Former President Donald Trump has weighed in on the brewing feud between Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and President Joe Biden by calling on all states to mobilize their respective National Guard units to help Texas defend its border.
“Joe Biden has surrendered our border, and is aiding and abetting a massive invasion of millions of illegal migrants into the United States,” wrote Trump on his account on Truth Social, wherein he also bragged about how his term as president resulted in the U.S. having “the most secure border in history.” (Related: EXCLUSIVE details on Trump’s MASS DEPORTATION plan to save America from being overrun.)
“Instead of fighting to protect our country from this onslaught, Biden is, unbelievably, fighting to tie the hands of Gov. Abbott and the State of Texas, so that the invasion continues unchecked,” he continued. “In the face of this national security, public safety and public health catastrophe, Texas has rightly invoked the invasion clause of the Constitution and must be given full support to repel the invasion.”
“We encourage all willing states to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of illegals, and to remove them back across the border,” continued Trump.
Trump further noted that all Americans should be supportive of the “commonsense measures” put in place by Abbott and the Texas authorities that are meant to protect Texas residents and the security and sovereignty of the state.
Trump’s call to action for states to deploy National Guard troops to the Texas border comes as 25 other Republican governors express their support for Abbott in his standoff against the Supreme Court and the federal government.
In concluding his statement of solidarity to Abbott, Trump vowed that, when he wins the upcoming presidential election in November, on day one, “instead of fighting Texas, I will work hand in hand with Gov. Abbott and other border states to stop the invasion, seal the border and rapidly begin the largest domestic deportation operation in history.”
“Those Biden has let in should not get comfortable because they will be going home,” he said.
The feud between Texas and the federal government exploded in recent weeks after Texas seized the Shelby Park area of the border city of Eagle Pass, blocking federal Border Patrol agents from entering. The federal government went to the Supreme Court to complain, and the court later ruled in the administration’s favor, granting it unrestricted access to the border and allowing Border Patrol agents to remove razor-wire Texas had set up along the Rio Grande to act as a deterrent against dangerous and illegal border crossings through the river.
This feud, which has been going on since Biden took office in January 2021 when the migrant crisis immediately escalated, is threatening to overwhelm Texas, with the administration claiming that immigration enforcement is the sole purview of the federal government.
